It is indeed a privilege and an honour for me as principal to address you. I have no doubt that through the cooperation of all stakeholders, Good Hope Seminary Junior School will make great strides in every aspect of teaching and learning as it has done since its inception. This institution has stood like an oak, braving every challenge and competition throughout the decades.

The school population is relatively stable with an enrolment of 444 learners. Good Hope Seminary Junior School learners are proficient not only academically, but are well groomed personalities, speaking impeccable English, capable of facing the world with confidence and meeting every challenge. Always conscious of all-round developments, we offer extra- curricular activities to bring out the latent talent in every individual.

There is a strong emphasis on learning partnerships in the school and parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s “learning journey”. Parents play a key role in the education of their children and I believe that learners achieve their potential when there is a strong partnership between all stakeholders – child, teacher and parent.

The staff at our school is a dedicated and extremely hard-working group of committed professionals, who are striving to plan for improvement based on the different needs of individual learners. Our teachers are using the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) to develop teaching and learning programs which will equip all the learners with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes they will need to lead successful lives in the twenty-first century.
