Basic Guides To Parental Support
- Please ensure that your contact details are placed on your child/ren’s bags or in a book in the bag. Assist your child to also memorize your contact details. Please inform the office immediately when your details change.
- We welcome our parents at school, but please report to the office first as teaching time cannot be compromised. Parents must not go directly to their child’s classroom.
- Make time to talk to your child daily about their experience/day at school.
- Limit TV time in the week.
- Give them special home chores that are age appropriate.
- Teach them about basic cleanliness:
- Take a bath daily if possible.
- Wipe with a wet cloth, if water is limited.
- Brush teeth daily (morning & night).
- Put on clean clothes to keep the germs away. - Read to them daily.
- Check homework and manage homework tasks.
- Check for school notices and reply if necessary.
- Transport - maintain contact with the transport driver to ensure that your child has been collected.
- Ensure that your transport driver is dropping off your child on time and collecting on time. You pay him/her so hold them responsible!!! The safety of your child is in question.
- Phone card – ensure that your child has a phone card and knows your contact details in an emergency.
- Personal belongings- label your child’s personal belongings and teach them to look after their property.
- Lost property:
- All uncollected property will be distributed to needy children at the end of each term. - Teach your child/ren basic values:
- Respect, kindness and consideration
- To be truthful
- To be helpful to those in need
- To be positive
