Basic Guides To Parental Support

  1. Please ensure that your contact details are placed on your child/ren’s bags or in a book in the bag. Assist your child to also memorize your contact details. Please inform the office immediately when your details change.
  2. We welcome our parents at school, but please report to the office first as teaching time cannot be compromised. Parents must not go directly to their child’s classroom.
  3. Make time to talk to your child daily about their experience/day at school.
  4. Limit TV time in the week.
  5. Give them special home chores that are age appropriate.
  6.  Teach them about basic cleanliness:
    - Take a bath daily if possible.
    - Wipe with a wet cloth, if water is limited.
    - Brush teeth daily (morning & night).
    - Put on clean clothes to keep the germs away.
  7. Read to them daily.
  8. Check homework and manage homework tasks.
  9. Check for school notices and reply if necessary.
  10. Transport - maintain contact with the transport driver to ensure that your child has been collected.
  11. Ensure that your transport driver is dropping off your child on time and collecting on time. You pay him/her so hold them responsible!!! The safety of your child is in question.
  12. Phone card – ensure that your child has a phone card and knows your contact details in an emergency.
  13. Personal belongings- label your child’s personal belongings and teach them to look after their property.
  14. Lost property:
    - All uncollected property will be distributed to needy children at the end of each term.
  15. Teach your child/ren basic values:
    - Respect, kindness and consideration
    - To be truthful
    - To be helpful to those in need
    - To be positive
